Since the release of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” in early 2011 Shuffling has been exposed to the general public like never before. Shuffling (aka The Melbourne Shuffle/Rocking) originated in Melbourne, Australia’s underground rave scene in the late 80′s. The style has evolved along the years but the predominant heel toe action has never been lost. Over 2000 – 2008 shuffling started to gain avid followers with the help of many YouTube videos, but before the release of “Party Rock Anthem” the past few years had been quite calm on the shuffling front.
The past week alone I had four different incidents of people/students asking me how to shuffle! No, I’m not going to make a YouTube video for you – not when they’re so many good ones already done. I’ve found some of the best vids for you so hopefully your shuffling days can begin! Have fun!!
What is Shuffling?
There is no trick photography, this is pure shuffling. Smooth gliding movements are key (sometimes slippery floors or shoes help!) Shufflers have been known to cover the bottom of their shoes in duct tape or spill water.
